  11. Prepare 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
  12. Prepare 1/4 tsp of garam masala powder (pilao masala).
  13. Make ready 2 tbsp of cooking oil.

  1. Slice the onion into rings. Chop coriander and peel and cut potato in cubes. Chop tomato in small cubes too. Soak the peas in water.
  2. Soak the rice in water and clean it.
  3. Take a sufuria, put on medium heat, put the mustard seeds in it when oil is heated and immediately put the onion and mix. Add in the garlic and mix..
  4. When onion is almost pink in colour, add in the tomato. Mix and then add in the other vegetables including the dania..
  5. Add in all the spices and mix. Now put half cup water and cover.
  6. After 2 mins, open the lid and mix again. Now add in the rest of the water(2 glasses). Mix and let it come to boil.
  7. When just boils, put the clean drained rice in it. Mix well. Let this cook for 4 minutes.
  8. Now reduce heat and cover again. After 2-3 minutes,switch off the heat. Let it set for 2 minutes before serving hot with pickle or kachumbari or yogurt..
