Ingredients of Besan Mathri

  1. You need 1 cup of gram flour.
  2. Prepare 1 cup of wheat flour.
  3. Prepare 2 tbsp of semolina.
  4. Prepare 1/4 cup of oil+ghee.
  5. You need 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
  6. Make ready 1/2 tsp of carrom seeds.
  7. Take 2 tbsp of dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi).
  8. Take 1 tsp of red chilli flakes.
  9. You need 1/4 tsp of asafoetida.
  10. It’s to taste of Salt.
  11. You need as needed of Oil for frying.

Besan Mathri step by step

  1. Mix all the flours and dried spices, salt and oil ghee and crumble it well..
  2. Add dried fenugreek leaves and mix it well..
  3. Now add little by little water and knead a hard dough. Rest it for at least 30 minutes..
  4. After 30 minutes, take some oil and knead for 10-15 minutes or till it becomes smooth..
  5. Thrn roll it thick like paratha. Cut it in your drsired shape. I used a cookie cutter, prick with a fork..
  6. On a medium,heat oil and deep fry mathris from both sides..
  7. Once it cools down completely, store it in air tight container..
