Ingredients of Lucknowi dal tadka
- Make ready 1 cup of tuar dal.
- Make ready 4 tbsp of Moong dal.
- It’s 1 of onion.
- Take 4-5 of garlic cloves.
- It’s 1 inch of ginger.
- You need 1/2 teaspoon of degi mirch.
- Make ready 1/2 teaspoon of coriander powder.
- It’s 1/4 teaspoon of hing.
- Take 1 tsp of Garam masala.
- Make ready 10 of kaju( cashew).
- Prepare 3 tbsp of ghee.
- It’s 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
- You need 1/2 teaspoon of red chilli powder.
- It’s 1/4 teaspoon of hing/asafoetida.
- It’s to taste of Salt.
- It’s 2 tsp of coriander leaves.
- Make ready 2 tbsp of curd.
- Take 1 of Bay leaf.
- Make ready 1/4 tsp of cumin seeds.
- Take 3 of green Cardamom.
- Prepare 1 of black Cardamom.

Lucknowi dal tadka step by step
- Pre soak the dal overnite. Boil it with turmeric, redchile, hing, salt and ghee. Cook 75%of the dal..
- Now make a paste of onion, ginger, garlic, curd, deghi mirch, garam masala powder, coriander powder and hing. Fry the kaju in ghee and keep it aside..
- In a pan add ghee then when it becomes hot add bay leaf, shahi jeera, black and green cardimaom. Then add the paste and cook it till ghee starts leaving the edges..
- Now add the dal, add salt to taste. Let it cook first 5 min in high flame then 10 min in low flame so the masala gets incorporated in the dal. When done add the fried kaju and coriander leaves. Before serving garnish it with some fried kaju, deghi mirch powder and coriander leaves..
