Ingredients of Panchmail Dal
- Prepare 2 tbsp of chana dal.
- You need 2 tbsp of moong dal.
- You need 2 tbsp of tuar dal.
- It’s 2 tbsp of urad dal.
- It’s 2 tbsp of masor dal.
- Take 2 of onion finely chopped.
- Take 2 of tomato grated.
- It’s 1 of tomato chopped.
- Take 1 tbsp of finger+garlic+green chilli (minced).
- It’s 2-3 tbsp of oil.
- You need 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of garam masala powder.
- Take pinch of hing.
- You need 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder or to taste.
- You need 1 tsp of coriander powder.
- Make ready 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
- Prepare to taste of salt.
- You need handful of fresh coriander.
- Prepare 1/2 of lemon (juice).
- It’s of for tempering -.
- Take 1 tbsp of ghee.
- You need 1/4 tsp of kashmiri red chilli powder.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
- Make ready 1 of bay leaf.
- Make ready 2 of whole red dry chilli.
Panchmail Dal step by step
- First wash and soak all lentils for atleast half and hour.add soaked lentils in a pressure cooker along with as required water, salt and turmeric powder and cook for 2-3 whistle..
- Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, garam masala powder and hing,then add chopped onion and cook for few mins on medium flame until light golden..
- Now add ginger+garlic +green chilli paste, stir for a min..
- Now add turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt and red chilli powder, mix well, then add grated tomatoes, stir and cook for few minutes until oil release..
- Now add chopped tomatoes stir well and cook for another minute..
- Add cooked lentils and mix well.add as required water and cook for 3-4 mins..
- Next - in a tempring pan heat ghee, then add bay leaf, whole red dry chillies,cumin seeds and kashmiri red chilli powder, quickly add the tempering into the prepared dal and cover for a min.lastly add fresh coriander and lemon juice and mix..
- Delicious panchratna / panchmail dal is ready to serve..
