Ingredients of Peanut Rice
- Take 3 cups of cooked rice.
- You need 1 cup of peanuts.
- It’s 5 of dry red chillies.
- It’s 2 tsp of white seaseme seeds.
- Make ready 2 tsp of urad dal.
- Make ready 3 tsp of dessicated coconut or dry grated coconut.
- It’s 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds.
- Make ready 1/2 tsp of hing.
- Prepare 2 tsp of tamarind pulp.
- It’s leaves of Few curry.
- It’s of Salt to taste.
- Prepare of Oil as required.
- It’s 1 tsp of ghee.
Peanut Rice step by step
- For peanut masala : Heat some oil in a pan, add 1/2 cup peanuts, urad dal, seaseme seeds, dessicated coconut, dry red chillies and fry it for 3-4 mins on a low flame, until you get a nice aroma..
- Allow the mixture to cool down and make a coarse paste of it without adding any water..
- Heat some more oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds, once it splutters, add few curry leaves, hing and the remaining peanuts, fry it until the peanuts starts to crackle..
- Next add the cooked rice, tamarind pulp & salt to taste, gently mix it well..
- Next add the peanut masala, gently coat it well with the rice, cook it for 2-3 mins, add some ghee, switch off the flame and cover and allow it rest for few minutes before serving..
