- Take 1 inch of ginger grated.
- Prepare 1 of tomato finely chopped.
- You need 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder haldi.
- Take 1 tsp of coriander cumin powder dhania jeera powder.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of jaggery grated.
- Take 1/2 tbsp of lemon juice.
- Make ready 2 tbsp of coriander washed and finely chopped.
- Take as per taste of salt.
- Prepare 2 cups of water or as needed to adjust consistency of dal.

- Remove the dal in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander. Serve the dal hot with steamed rice, roti, subji, salad, and buttermilk (chaas).
