- Wash split pigeon peas(arhar/toor dal) trice in water. Soak in 1 glass of water for 1 hour. Pressure cook soaked arhar dal for 4 whistles..
- As steam escape from pressure cooker, open the cooker lid. Take out pressure cooked dal container. Whisk cooked dal. Add tumeric powder,red chilli powder,dhania jeera powder,salt and jaggery in it..
- In a vessel add,heat ghee.Add fenugreek seeds,as it turns pink,add mustard cummin seeds, as splutter, add chopped green chillies, ginger, curry leaves and asafoetida. Off the flame. Pour this tadka on prepared dal..
