Ingredients of Toor dal
- Make ready 1 cup of toor dal.
- Prepare 2 cups of water.
- It’s 1 tbsp of ghee.
- Take 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.

- Prepare 1 spring of Curry leaves.

- Prepare 1 tsp of Turmeric powder.
- It’s As per taste of Chilli powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Coriander powder.
- Take to taste of Salt.
- Take 1/2 tsp of Garam masala.
- You need As required of Fresh coriander leaves.
- You need 1 tsp of Kasuri methi.
- Prepare As required of water.

Toor dal step by step
- Firstly in a pressure cooker take 1 cup toor dal and 2 cup water..
- Pressure cook for 5 whistles or till dal gets cooked completely..
- Now in another kadai heat 1 tbsp ghee splutter 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp jeera, 1 dried red chilli, few curry leaves and a pinch of hing..
- Add in 1 onion followed by 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and 1 green chilli. saute well..
- Further add ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder and ½ tsp coriander powder. saute on low flame..
- Additionally add 2 tomatoes and saute till it turns soft and mushy..
- Now whisk the cooked dal to smooth consistency..
- Add the cooked dal along with 1 tsp salt. mix well..
- Further add required water and adjust the consistency..
- Simmer for 5 minutes or till dal turns smooth and absorbs flavour..
- Now add ¼ tsp garam masala, 1 tbsp coriander and 1 tsp crushed kasuri methi..
- Finally, serve toor dal with hot rice..
