  1. Firstly properly wash and soak masoor dal in water for 1 hour. After an hour pressure cook it for 2 whistles and keep aside..
  2. Now heat up the oil in kadhai on low flame. Once oil is heated add mustard seedss, allow it to crackle and add onions. Cook till it turns translucent and then add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute. Now add tomatoes, mix well and further cook for a minute..
  3. Now add spices like turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dhaniya jeera powder, garam masala and salt. Mix all well and cook till tomatoes gets cooked completely and leaves oil..
  4. Now add boiled masoor dal. Add required amount of water, mix everything well and cook for 5 mins. Switch off the flame..
  5. Garnish with green coriander leaves and serve hot with roti and rice..
